You may choose to provide us with personal information directly in a variety of situations. For instance, you may provide us with your name and contact information so that we can communicate with you to process an order, request a service, provide a subscription, or to conduct business for suppliers or business partners. If you tell us that you do not want us to use your information to make additional contacts beyond fulfilling your request, we will respect your wishes.

If you wish to request that ACCOUNTFY no longer use your registration information, please contact ACCOUNTFY at compliance@accountfy.com.

We may also ask you to register a login to access the ACCOUNTFY PLATFORM, in which case you will need to provide us with your name, your e-mail address, in which country you are located and other information, if necessary, for the purpose for which you are being asked to register. This procedure serves to uniquely identify you when you visit our websites, place an order or request, or use a product or service, as well as to allow customization and control of your privacy settings.

In addition, ACCOUNTFY may collect information about the pages you view on ACCOUNTFY websites, the time you spent on each site, and other actions you take when visiting the ACCOUNTFY website.

In doing so, ACCOUNTFY will ask suppliers to confirm that the information has been legally acquired by third parties and that ACCOUNTFY has the right to obtain it from them and use it.

When you register for an event, we may collect additional information (online or offline) about the company of the event and, during an event, information such as session attendance and search results. Events may be recorded and photos of the group can be taken. We reserve the right to use photos for promotional use. By providing us with your business contact information (e.g. by handing in a business card), we can use it to communicate with you.

The information collected, directly or indirectly, may be combined to help us improve its overall accuracy and completeness, and to help us better customize our interactions with you.

Cookies, Web Beacon Other Technologies
As mentioned throughout this Policy, we collect information from your website visits and services used as well as software products to help us gather usage and effectiveness statistics, customize your experience, customize our interactions with you, and improve our products and services. ACCOUNTFY does this through the use of various technologies, including scripts, tags, Local Shared Objects (Flash cookies), Local Storage beacons (HTML5) and cookies.

What are cookies and why are they used?
A cookie is a piece of data that a website can send to your browser and that can be stored on your computer as a tag that identifies your computer. Although cookies are typically used only to measure website usage (such as the number of visitors and length of visit) and effectiveness (such as the topics visitors are most interested in) and to facilitate navigation or use and as such are not associated with any personal information, they are also sometimes used to personalize the experience of a known visitor to a website and are associated with profile information or user preferences. Over time, this information provides valuable insight to help improve the user experience.

Cookies are generally categorized as “session” cookies or “persistent” cookies. Session cookies help you navigate the website efficiently by tracking your progress from page to page so that you are not asked for information already provided during the current visit or information needed to complete a transaction.

Session cookies are stored in temporary memory and deleted when your web browser is closed. Persistent cookies, on the other hand, store user preferences for current and successive visits. They are stored on the device’s hard disk and remain valid after the browser is restarted. We use persistent cookies, for instance, to record the choice of language and country location.

How to express privacy preferences regarding the use of cookies
When you visit our websites or online services, you may be able to set your preferences for cookies and other similar technologies using the options and tools provided by your web browser or by ACCOUNTFY. If a cookie manager has been implemented by ACCOUNTFY, it will be displayed on your first visit to our website. By clicking “cookie preferences” at the bottom of an ACCOUNTFY website, you can choose and change at any time what types of cookies you would like ACCOUNTFY websites to use. Using cookie preferences does not result in the deletion of cookies that are already on your device. You can delete cookies that are already on your device through your web browser settings.

Although websites, online services and ACCOUNTFY services do not yet recognize automated browser signals regarding tracking mechanisms, such as instructions not to track, it is generally possible to express your privacy preferences regarding the use of most cookies and similar technologies through your web browser.

Please see the heading “Tools” (or something similar) in your specific browser for information on cookie tracking. In most cases, you can set your browser to receive it before you receive a cookie, giving you the option to decide whether or not to accept it.

You can also usually set your browser to disable cookies. Cookies in our software products may be turned off in the product itself. Because cookies allow you to take advantage of some features of ACCOUNTFY websites or software products and services, ACCOUNTFY recommends that you leave them enabled.

By blocking, turning off or otherwise rejecting our cookies, some web pages may not be displayed correctly or you may not be able, for instance, to include items in your shopping cart, continue with shopping completion, or use any ACCOUNTFY websites or services that may require connection.

Web beacons or other technologies
Some ACCOUNTFY websites, ACCOUNTFY Cloud services and software products may also use web beacons or other technologies to better customize these sites to provide better customer service. These technologies can be used on various pages on ACCOUNTFY’s websites.

When a visitor accesses these pages, an unidentifiable notice of the visit is generated, and can be processed by us or our suppliers. These web beacons usually work in conjunction with cookies.

If you do not want your cookie information to be associated with your visits to these pages or the use of these products, please set your browser to disable cookies or disable cookies in the product itself, respectively.

By disabling cookies, the web beacon and other technologies will still detect visits to these pages; however, they will not be associated with information stored in cookies.

ACCOUNTFY uses Local Shared Objects, such as Flash cookies, and local storage, such as HTML5, to store content information and preferences. Third parties with whom ACCOUNTFY has partnered to provide certain features on ACCOUNTFY’s website or to display ACCOUNTFY advertising on websites based on their web browsing activity also use flash cookies or HTML5 to collect and store information. Several browsers may offer their own tools to remove HTML5. To manage Flash cookies, click here.

We may also include web beacons in e-mail marketing messages or in our newsletters to determine if messages have been opened and links contained have been clicked on. Some of our business partners establish web beacons and cookies on our site.

In addition, third party social media buttons may record certain information such as your IP address, browser type and language, access time, and referring website addresses, and if you are connected to these social networking sites, they may also link this collected information to your profile information on this site. We do not control these third-party tracking technologies.

Online advertising
ACCOUNTFY does not provide third party online advertisements on its websites, but ACCOUNTFY advertises its products and services on third party websites. Acquaint yourself with the privacy policies of these network advertisers or website operators to understand their advertising practices, including the type of information they may collect about your Internet use.

Individuals may opt not to receive targeted advertising delivered by NAI or EDAA member ad networks using the tools provided when visiting the following sites: Digital Advertising Alliance (DAA), Network Advertising Initiative (NAI), and European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance (EDAA).

We also engage with some specific third parties in order to manage some of our advertisements on other sites. These third parties may use cookies and web beacons to collect information (such as your IP address) about your activities on ACCOUNTFY’s websites and third party websites to provide targeted advertisements from ACCOUNTFY based on your interests:

We may also provide general links to websites from other companies.

Your use of these links and applications from third parties is subject to the privacy policies of such third parties, and you should acquaint yourself with them before using the links or applications. ACCOUNTFY is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of these other websites.
